The Reviews Are In!

Ernest Kearney with The TVolution on “The Jumper”…

But for me, the high point of the two programs was The Jumper based on the experiences of Shannon Corbeil, with music and lyrics by Natalie Rebecca Lovejoy.  Credit for this must go, in no small part, to Brooke Moltrum whose outstanding performance took command of the Broadwater stage and Santa Monica Blvd from Vine to the Pacific Ocean.

If judging on just the first program, I would probably call this production a Gold, but with the second program added in, a Platinum Medal goes to Guy, Coppola, and all those involved.

Charles Ziarko on “The Jumper”…

Show #2 (5:30PM) had one sensational performance, by Brooke Moltrum, in the thinnest story, about a gung-ho girl jumping into parachuting. This performer is 100% Ready for Prime-Time; I hope she gets the vehicle she deserves to showcase herself as the pro she already is! Troy Armand Barbosa ably did a lengthy piece contrasting a home raid in Iraq with his own dysfunctional family in Louisiana, and Jabari finished with an interesting mood piece set in Afghanistan, but both were somewhat overmatched by the opener.

Michael Lamb on “The Jumper”…

"Broadway caliber performances by John David Wallis in OUT HERE ON THE EDGE and Brooke Moltrum with a star turn in THE JUMPER".

Tina Arth on “Matilda”…

Brooke Moltrum’s “Miss Honey” is fun to watch as she gradually grows a backbone, and her vocals are heartbreakingly gorgeous, especially in “This Little Girl” and “When I Grow Up.”
